Along the years, Macao Water guests for supplying excellent quality drinking water to the Macao citizens. Although our water quality complies with the European Standard, We have been looking for advanced and precise ways for water treatment and analysis. The Laboratory and Research Centre, equipped with a full range of advanced equipment for water analysis, takes this responsibility.
There are 2 two divisions in the laboratory -- Analysis Division and Research Division:
The Analysis Division performs the water quality testing and analyzing and provides information on water quality to the public, the government and other departments of the company.
The Research Division is responsible for the researches on water treatment processes, water resources management, as well as laboratory expertise development. It provides technical solutions to the problems encountered by Macao Water in operation of the water treatment plants and management of raw water and treated water.
To guarantee the accuracy and reliability of water testing results, as well as to comply with the European Standard for drinking water, the Laboratory was established and put into operation by the end of 1987 and was subsequently officially inaugurated in May 1988. By the end of 1991, the laboratory centre is re-named as "The Laboratory and Research Centre" of the Macao Water Supply Company Limited.
